I was referring to LWR's proposed scenario where Leagues 1 and 2 merge and non league regionalises but does not become part of the EFL pyramid. The EFL would lose 4 teams to non-league rather than 2, like they usually do.

They could opt to continue relegating 2 teams to non-league every year and there is nothing non-league could do about it.

Let’s face it it’s the only way we’d get back in the FL, but it’s not gonna happen.

1 promoted from each league then 2nd 3rd 4th 5th from each league in a playoff to get a North South final

Sounds good

Financial sense surely

League 2 and the National league makes so much more sense then regional football would exist at 2 levels with the conference north and south feeding the new divisions
Would agree on both counts.

The Swindon owner fears that 30% to 40% of L1 and L2 clubs might not be around soon because of Covid 19. Any calculations about the future make up of Leagues could look very different in 6 months time if his fears prove to have some basis in reality.

Sadly, it is highly likely some teams will fold. Hopefully, not as many as predicted, but it's still too early to tell. Although things are slowly improving on the Covid-19 front, we are still not out of the woods -- or should that be a minefield!

Although we have cash reserves, we also have big payments with no further revenue streams until a vaccine is created. It's not yet guaranteed we will survive.

Agree with you to some extent but why aren't the club looking at potential revenue streams now? We were told several weeks ago that the fundraising group were looking into it but we've heard nothing since. I suggested launching the new kit asap but there's been no news.
I can't imagine it's a problem with Macron as Tim from Spirit of 58 is able to bring out products in tandem with them.

And before people reply saying all staff are furloughed, you only have to furlough people in 3 week blocks. Surely they could unfurlough some staff to process online orders and send them out? Not just next year's kit but also to sell off any excess stock left over from this season?

Unfortunately, this is all too forward thinking and progressive for our inept board.

Perhaps a weird idea but perhaps lower league clubs should partner to create a “football Netflix” with a massive archive of old matches and databases of transfers and shit. Maybe have some “football insights” or mini documentaries to plug it out.
The archives can be sorted out even during lockdown and there’ll be a steady income year-round which can be split between clubs.
The subscription could then be used to broadcast matches as well if it will make more money than BT sport and I’m not sure if L1 and L2 get that many matches anyway.
Then you could even have “club packages” which club x (Wrexham) would have most of that revenue which would have all the matches of that club only and maybe digital copies of old dvds the club might have made.
As Wrexham have a big fan base this would benefit us and maybe save money for fans of only one club.
