Default Andy Morrison

Linked with the job after Hughes was sacked, he has just led Connah's Quay to the Welsh Premier League title, putting an end to TNS' uninterrupted 9 seasons of dominance. Even though the last few games were not played, it did look for all intents and purposes that Connah's Quay were going to win it anyway.

A lot of people on here turned their noses at the prospect of appointing him at the time, and I'm sure we can attract a higher calibre of manager once structural changes are made within the club. However, there is no doubt in my mind that Morrison would have been a far better appointment than any of our last 3 managers - Barrow, Hughes, Keates.

He is a big, uniting, personality who knows how to implement a successful footballing plan. He was also (presumably) affordable and happy to work in this area.

I would be willing to bet a lot of money that he will be managing in the Football League before we get back there (though given our current set up he has an infinite amount of time to achieve that).

If fans are unhappy with the style of football Keates plays then I dread to think what they'd say about Morrison's. Went to watch Nomads a while back and my neck has only just recovered.

Don't get me wrong, he seems like a decent guy, but I'm not sure winning the WPL means he would definitely achieve promotion here. See Craig Harrison at Hartlepool.

I would like a manager who decides on a style of play, recruits players specific to that style, then trains in a manner that allows for it to be implemented effectively on a match day.

Morrison is capable of that which already makes him more qualified than our last 3 managers. Granted it's a very low bar.

I've watched a fair few of their games this season and found them infinitely more entertaining than anything I've seen at The Racecourse under Barrow/Hughes/Keates.

Maybe the fact it's even a discussion is more of a reflection of our own shortcomings than anything else. However, my point about him being in the Football League before us still stands.

You have got to aim higher than WPL for a manager there is going to be lots of top quality coaches without a job when football gets back to something of normality.

He has a better managerial C.V. than Hughes and Keates combined

However, no. We should be able to attract better.

We won't attract better though because every manager, player, agent and coach knows we're a basketcase that is set-up to fail

Change the board and scream it from the rooftops to the footballing community

This assumes we are even looking for a manager. Like it or not we have one and he ain't leaving anytime soon I would imagine!

To be fair you'd probably been a better appointment than those three.

Think we need to be aiming higher than a WPL manager though unless they perform miracles there are better managers who've done more at a much higher level (i.e. NL and North and South) that should be looked at first.

Plus has Morrison been on a Pep Darlington FAW course?

I too have watched quite a few Nomads games this season.

They have played some nice stuff at times and I have enjoyed going to watch their games far more than anything seen at the Racecourse.

Morrison has played in the Premier League - he's grounded and loud and a big character - some don't like him but I do - watch his press conferences - he can communicate and speak - compare him to Keates and see the difference.

One thing I noticed at the Deeside Stadium - his players will run through brick walls for him - he has harnessed something that has been virtually unbeatable.

Not forgetting that his number 2 is Harrison - the package deal would be two older stronger heads - again compare what we have in comparison.

We could do a lot worse - quality managers wont be forming an orderly que when the next managerial vacancy arrives. There are lots of decent players at WPL level - the Nomads young centre half was being touted by Salford City in the last few weeks of the season - he looks assured and a decent prospect.
