Default Barry Horne: "There were too many differences, it was becoming too fractious"

Barry Horne has spoken a little bit about why he left the club, although didn't really go into heavy detail. I think the part about not taking a risk on signing a striker when Newport pipped us to the post is telling though. Also talks about why he objected to appointing Mills and it sounds like they later went down the route he originally suggested in terms of how to pick them.

"I believed we should look for a younger, fresher management team, who were well qualified, forward-thinking and had connections to the club and area."

There is a bit of a mismatch between the title of the article and its contents. Horne’s memories also appear different to the interpretations of some on her.

There was clearly 2 different mindsets on the Board, which resulted in Horne and Bircham resigning. Jumped or pushed?

Largely what we already know. It was no secret that Horne didn't want mills and was overruled.

Another fine mess by the idiots running our club!

He uses the word 'fractious' That is an interesting word to use from an educated man.

To my knowledge there's at least one lie in there.

We got him in as a football expert, and then ignored his expertise

Then didn't replace him, then those left on the board state they have all the skills necessary even though that flies in the face of reality. Brilliant.

No way should Horne be brought back, he's too weak is the conclusion after reading that article.

On Keates there is nothing to 'understand', he did the dirty on us as he did at other clubs only for us to bring him back.
