That makes sense, but I think we need to free up as much budget as possible to sign the key players and then get the squad players in later.

Hopefully our next right back wont be a duffer, but agree with keeping Carringrton providing on a full assessment on his fitness. Both he and Jennings had a few too many issues last term and probably played games when not fully fit, with loan replacements also picking up injuries. Even 2 seasons ago they had a few issues but it worked better having Roberts making a steady reliable 3.

That's why I advocate him being our first choice RB. He covers the position while not costing the earth. He's been our most reliable RB for years.

Funding in the team should be slanted forwards not backwards.

If he gets injured bring a loan in, when we need one and not to sit in the stand.

All a moot point of course, in relation to our issues this is the smallest of small fry.
