Sounds like we can start playing live games with fans attending the racecourse , as I appear to be the only one willing to attend
Lol

I think that you will all miss the buzz , and the 1 nil wins

I'm not missing how it was once Keates came back.

I really do miss the old Wrexham AFC though. The club with pride and self-respect

There's still hope that Keates will be booted out and that board changes will come but that hope is fading more and more each week

I'm ashamed to say after 55 years that's probably it for me, no more waste of my life beings bored rigid, I think the final straw was losing Ricketts to Shrewsbury followed by the circus events that followed and once Keates came back with his PE Teacher, the hoofball at home was that depressing I think we was going down anyway, cowardice football at home was the killer... I miss the banter but have found new more enjoyable Hobbies, the habit has been broken, I don't even miss football in general either.

It’s certainly been stress free, it’s been like a close season.

I have lived away from Wrexham for nearly 40 years, first in Scotland and now in South West England, over that period I have managed to see only a few games a season, and in more recent seasons even less. However, I’ve never been able to get the team out of my blood, every game I’m following the Live Match Thread or listening, and at times it feels like a curse. The elation of winning and gloom after defeats seem as strong as they ever were.

I know many on here say they have/will stop attending unless something changes with the board (which it must do), but I’m sure you’ll still be experiencing those highs and lows after games.

I miss the guys I sit with, and near, it will be nice to see them again, whenever that might be

I miss the league club that it used to be, and I’ve been a regular at the racecourse since 1978, and season ticket holder for the last fifteen years (couldn’t afford it prior to that)

I miss the real hope of promotion from the NLP to the FL - I feel that hope has more or less evaporated since Ricketts went (as JND says) - there’s been no sign of real hope since, with a succession of poor manager appointments, dubious coaching/tactics, seemingly endless in-fighting in the fan base about the board etc

Right now I admit that I’m not looking forward to a return of football at all

I think the only things that would fire some enthusiasm for me are....

a sea change in the club ownership model (although I do see that the cautious money management has helped sustain the club during covid - yes, I know people will say we spunked a lot of money on the management changes etc, I just mean generally the balancing of the books seems to have kept us safe for now?)....But I doubt we are really competing for the best players at this level due to our budget, we don’t get proper goal scorers on our books do we....

Regionalisation of either the NAtional League Premier with the top half of the NLN and NLS, becoming NLPN and NLPS, to give us more derbies, or else see FL L2 and NLP to merge and regionalise (can’t see that happening due to the closed shop 92 club)....

So, as per the thread title, yes, stress free Saturdays, but missing the fans I chat with, and missing the ‘old days’ of football at Wrexham

Keep well, everyone.

Yeah Stevenage, 5-0 win and a Williams hat-trick.

Seems like an eternity ago!
