That is how he was described, more the target man with quicker players playing off him. Morecombe bought him on the back of his Stockport goals and it looked like he would play alongside the quicker Leitch-Smith but injury/fitness severely limited their game time.

Oswell is not a target man, as he hasn't got the bulk. I am thinking of Jim Steel, Danny Wright, Billy Ashcroft etc. A target man needs size to defend the ball and distribute. I was shocked when I first saw Oswell at Hartlepool last season getting bags off the coach. He looked slim - a million dollars in fact. More Grattan catalogue than a John Toshack !!!
