The club allows all kinds of flags on the old kop - not saying all political but I doubt the club bother to look if there are political connotations or not.

There was an Israeli flag there for one game - I suppose to counter the Palestinian flags.

Those politically minded of any persuasion are bound to take advantage of a captive audience, as some causes may likely get little support elsewhere.

Surely the club has a policy for no political banners? Of a racist banner was displayed I would have no doubt that the club would order it taken down immediately, no difference with current flags.

Reasonable statement but I would like to see is donate the money raised from Saturday night and Sunday to NHS Charities. I feel uncomfortable that we have financially benefited from this

Appears statement has not appeared on social media, either Sunday, Monday or today.

No idea if the quote below is real so treat with caution - source https://twitter.com/Davies777Liam/st...16368694935554

But appears this fan has been told "publishing the statement on social media where this began could cause... tension between supporters, something we wouldnt want to further"

Issuing an apology is a start. Not the first time the media team have posted garbage and it won't be the last. There will be no impact to them.

If they truly believe this then post it on twitter. See how many of our new followers see it and potentially unfollow us or stop donations or buy the new shirts they said they would. If this is their stance they should stand behind it and not hide it away

A racist banner would rightly be taken down as displaying it would be a criminal act. Again though, there is nothing to prevent people being politically minded.

Cannot have it both ways.
By that very same logic Rob is directly accountable for the multitude of views shared by RP users on this site. Might need to lawyer up!

Again disagree.

Rob and the moderators are responsible for removing offensive material from RP, which is done after the fact.

The club has claimed: "Wrexham AFC condemns all forms of racism, but we do not take a political stance as a football club, and we condemn violence of any kind."

De facto, the club are failing to maintain that standard if they allow political banners - regardless of the messages' affiliations - to be viewed on the kop.

The point is though that anyone can go and put a banner up, whether it's to add to Jeremy Corbyn's washing line (or is it Keir Starmer's now?) or to hang Maggie Thatcher's knickers up. If the club were intent on being political, it would have allowed the Palestine flag but not the Israel one.

Keir Starmer wouldn't do the left wIng virtue signalling stuff so it’s definitely not his washing line. Will always be the Corbyn washing line.

I understand what you are saying but the flags on the kop give a perceived political standpoint of the club. I personally am left leaning politically so the flags certainly don’t offend me but I am aware they be off putting to others so to be true my politically neutral it would be better to just have no political flags or banners
