New WST members can vote at AGM!

I previously thought you had to be a WST member 90 days prior to an AGM

Someone posted on here that they didn't think that was the case! So I emailed WST Chairman Peter Jones who stated:

"In regards to new Trust Board members, all members will be notified of the forthcoming election at the AGM, and new members can vote as long as they have the required code that we will announce soon, which means new members have to join about a week prior to the AGM for this to be done. The 90 day rule is that new members can't put themselves forward for election to the board if they join prior to the 90 day rule."

Is there a way to join if you don't have a WREXID? (I don't believe I was ever sent a membership card when last in the Trust)

There are two ways of renewing or joining the WST; standing order or by cheque. Due to the club shop being closed due to the Coronavirus, we’re unable to take cash payments in person.

Standing Order by Bank or Paypal - Paypal would be by far the easiest way and it's a shame there's no instructions under this heading to let you do that.

If you have a standing order currently in place you won’t need to do anything. If you pay annually by standing order, we will have your details on record, so you do not need to do anything. Your membership will automatically renew.

If you have cancelled it and would like to renew you will need to set-up a standing order to:

To ensure that your payment is recognised to you please add your WREXID (found on the back of your membership card) as the reference. Please note that the minimum price for membership is £12 for adults and £5 for children (16 & under).

If you would like an acknowledgement of payment please e-mail membership@wst.org.uk and we will respond to you to confirm.

Payment via Cheque
Alternatively, you can pay by cheque; the cost for this payment method is £15 per year for Adults or £5 per year for Juniors (up to and including 16 years of age).

If you decide to pay by cheque, because the Club Shop is currently closed, please post to: 4 Village Meadow, Ruabon, Wrexham, LL14 6TF.

Please ensure that you write your WREXID on the back of the cheque so that your payment is allocated to you.

Life Members
You do not have to do anything. Your membership will automatically renew.

Need to Update Your Contact Details?
If any of your personal details have changed recently, then please let the Club know (e.g. address, e-mail address etc). This will help to ensure that you receive club communications.

If you have not been receiving communication e-mails, then it is, either, we have your wrong e-mail address, or you have not opted in to receiving communications from us.

Due to recent changes in GDPR legislation, we need your explicit consent to receive these. If this applies to you, then e-mail membership@wst.org.uk asking to receive these. Please ensure you provide your WREXID.

The bolded bits both seem to suggest that WREXID is necessary - if we don't have one because we haven't got a membership card (in common with a significant number of WST members, I believe) will we have problems?

In addition, the stuff about e-mailing membership@wst.org.uk is a little worrying; I know that many people haven't received replies to e-mails they sent to that address and I'm still waiting for an answer from the WST board to a question I asked back in December, via Northwalian Dragon, as to whether it's actually monitored.
