If they're any good we sell them for peanuts before they get near the first team.

Sorry for the dose of reality but there it is.

This is Wrexham FC in the last 10 years.

Or get them to sit on the bench whilst we sign more and more lower league journeymen.

There are many things wrong with the management of playing staff. However FTR has highlighted a major failing - looking for the cheap, quick fix option (which has got us to the lowest point in our existence) rather than investing in our young players.
This might now be forced on us - I would welcome it.

Let’s not get too carried away it’s a tier 3 college league and the best player is unlikely to stay.

I wouldn't blame him! I'm struggling to think of a single youth player over the last 10 years who's broken into the first team and then gone on to bigger and better things.

And when you look at some of the players we have bought in it must be heart-breaking for them to know they won't get a chance in the first team.

Bobby Beaumont has hinted he is gone.

All the youth at the end of their scholarships must now be free agents, none being offered a deal at all (yet).

The best in my opinion is likely off to a league club this summer. The previous best one who was let go without any fight at all and for zilch just signed a 3 year pro at Wigan and is now a regular in the Scotland age group teams.

Bobby needed to move a couple of years ago to reach his potential, he stayed and has suffered the consequences of not having better development. There was a player there for sure, likely still is.
