Default Re: Official 'survey' launched ' to 'gauge our Members opinions on a potential sale of the club'

Perhaps if we actually offered sponsorship opportunities of youth sides and tried to think outside the box a bit we'd have someone in place overlooking player welfare and safety in a defined full time capacity. I believe that's one of many criteria we do not fulfill at the moment.

Far less than is down to the following:

Introducing charging without first investigating sponsorship (the all efforts will go into the 1st team quote)

Actively looking to sell off anyone early without looking to develop and maximise value

Allowing the CoE head to employ coaches without qualifications and without interview

Allowing the games program to deteriorate

Removing the reserves

Having no pathway other than throwing young pro's into the WPL and not reviewing their progress

Having no scouting network or representation at local tournaments

Having no strategy, desire, values, ambition or care.

The CoE ran for a couple of years without the funding, the degredation was a planned run down to the point that a once proud institution and key part of the club is now a pale, tepid and almpost pointless shadow of the one Stuart built.

This annoys me hugely.

In order to get back to anything close to what we had will cost a lot of money and a lot of time.

It didn't have to be this way, as you say more thought and care could have been put in. Whilst this would not have got us back to what we had in the league it would have delivered something far better than what we are left with. As important it would given young players and their parents/guardians a far better experience than has been thrown at them.

Its heart breaking, and it's all on those running the club.

that is my understanding. Also because we are not in the football league I dont think we get any financial help regarding coe.

Desire, belief, giving a sh*t, having a strategy and being bothered to do the right things never cost money.

Considering the question on the survey about 'professional advisers' it makes you wonder whether to they even trust themselves to do it?

All this lot want to do is say 'it's my ball and I'm taking it home'.
If you read the questions carefully they were designed to make you answer yes to each seemingly reasonable question but put them together and they create an unattractive negotiating stance to interested parties. For example, voting yes to all questions means the Trust appoints professional advisors, makes the buyer pay for it and fund it on an ongoing basis, after all of that the WST members can still vote no to a sale but the buyer has spent tens of thousands of pounds paying for our professional advisors

Neil Taylor was asked why do many dual qualified players choose Wales over England. His answer was simple, those coming into the training camps at youth level enjoyed themselves, like a lads holiday, but crucially could see a pathway from under 15's through to the senior side.

They could earn more money hoping to play for England, they see the opportunities of playing on an international stage as putting themselves in the shop window and earning moves to the top clubs in the world.

It's what we should be striving for, easier to lie down and have your belly tickled.

How much is because we don’t scout them, the coaching techniques are a disgrace a light years behind other clubs and that it’s all pointless in the end anyway with a manager who’d rather sign crocked crap and play them out of position.
