He's been no where near the fanbase. Walks straight down the tunnel after a loss. Refused to do a meet the manager.

Now he's asking the fans to stick with the team. Why should we stick with Keates when he didn't stick with us?
He's been conspicuous in his absence since the lockdown hasnt he? Whereas players have been in the media, delivering pizzas, phoning vulnerable fans etc I don't recall hearing or seeing anything from the manager trying to engage with the fanbase.

Happy to be corrected though.

To be fair he is furloughed. The likes of Pearson and a few others Have been in the news , but that’s because they have been active outside of the football club eg Fat Boar.

I cannot remember who posted it on Twitter but someone said Keates had called his Dad (a season ticket holder) for a chat so i#I cannot imagine he is the only one he has called.
In addition everyone is furloughed and, in order to get the 80% from the government a person cannot do anything of a work nature in relation to his employment.

I anticipate everything will change at the end of the month as the government will pay less and employers will be expected to make other payments. At that stage, I assume, he will release who he is going to release and start looking to sign for next season.

I'd imagine if Keates is staying he wouldn't be allowed to sign anyone until season ticket sales are underway

Crazy to see Crewe Alexandra paid 19k less than us and got promoted to League One. Is the majority of their squad still their own Academy Players? Paying for itself, who’d have thought.

Yes, a very settled squad too, remarkable turn around by David Artell. 1 game away from relegation 3 seasons ago to promotion.

A very bright fella too.

Crewe reaped the reward of ignoring the calls to sack Dave (Cheap Option) Artell and sticking with him.

We certainly need to give a manager time to work his ideas. Not Keates though. We won't achieve anything with a divided fanbase, toxic atmosphere and massively reduced budget. The sooner Keates is gone the sooner we can look to the future.
