Here's some potential good news for the new season when it eventually gets underway.

Chief Sport Writer in Times today says social distancing could end football booze ban. As the ban encourages supporters to binge drink a change in the law could result in more responsible drinking. Supporters would be allowed to take their drinks to their seats instead of congregating on concourses. Police are understood to be the biggest stumbling block.

The problem is not with the drinking inside the ground . There is a limit to the number of ales you can get down in the stadium before a match starts. Much less than the time available to drink in the pub before you go to the ground. There lies the problem.

Sadly, coronavirus and the resulting illness Covid-19 are not going away, it may die down a bit over the summer as it cannot survive much in the heat/sun but it will rise again in the autumn (see refrigerated meat packing factories in Llangefni and Wrecsam as examplea), until we get mass vaccinations there will be excess deaths above the average.

Generally, young fit healthy people will not die from it, in fact they will hardly notice it, however, they be carriers, and will spread it to anybody that comes within 2 meters of them coughing, sneezing and breathing, (it is a very highly contagious airborne virus after all), and if any of those people have a weakened immune system they are at risk of a life changing or life ending illness.

So basically the lockdown is for the lives of those people at risk not those who are strong, so think about them whilst you "don't give a toss what the restrictions are, I'm doing what I want"

As regard to football, keeping fans 2m apart in the ground is the easy part -keeping them apart before and after the game is the difficult bit. Lets face it, the pictures and videos this week from Bournemouth, Anfield, Ogmore by the sea etc shows crowds cannot be trusted to act sensibly.

WAFC are probably in a worse situation than most in this division as we were expecting certain crowds to break even and also need that as we haven't got a benefactor, whereas most teams in this division hardly ever break even with crowds alone, and the shortfall is covered by the owners etc,

Combine all this with the worst season we've ever had and the fans somewhat divided, and the fans run club emerging in to what seems a revolution turned dictatorship, Robert Mugabe style, then it doesn't seem next season will be the "heulwen ar fryn" we are all hoping it will be.......

Calling someone " A piece of Shit " is nasty no matter what comments they make , you need to rephrase your attack to a moderate !!

Why bring alcohol into it. If the situation was safe I would attend games, but the presence or lack of alcohol is not a deal breaker. Some of the most cringe worthy moments that I have witnessed watching Wrexham over 50 years, involve alcohol. Or more specifically, a small percentage of folks, going overboard and embarrassing us all. Cue - Chesterfield two seasons ago etc etc.

Thoughts for next season are very premature

It appears there is no confirmed date for the play offs from this season, taking part is a gamble to the clubs involved having to pay the players with no income

Next season is a while away , shambles of a League this is

If this season doesn't start on time then the league won't relegate Stevenage and there'll be no need for playoffs
