People view Wales v England as a stats compare, not realising that England are pretty high up a bad league table.

Some stats for those reading this thread...

North Wales has 352 deaths (Public Health Wales) or 456 deaths off the ONS data.

Even taking the lower figure that is HIGHER than loads of entire countries eg. South Korea, Norway, Greece, Thailand ... and of course New Zealand and Australia.

Australia has 104 deaths from coronavirus.

The Countess of Chester up the road has 208 alone. Double.

There is no localised information for Wrexham published.

A increase of sucides in North Wales has coincided with lockdown, I'd guess some linked to money worries. It's important at minimum as many as possible get back to work. Otherwise, we're only going to see this rise further

Over in Wales the figures are still fudged, people are still dying without having a test with suspected Covid and the death not being recorded as one from covid.

Well Ex LR you got that spot on - America has seen a massive rise since the demonstrations especially in the 21 - 45 age group - we have a major problem in Leicester with the possibility of a local lock down and we are just beginning to see the effects of mass gatherings in London and the south east.

There are many reasons why a second wave has the potential to cause more harm than the initial wave. One of these is the way the public respond, I doubt it will be anything like as positive as the first, people are fed up with restrictions as seen on beaches etc - we have managed to ignore the fact that around 200 people are still dying from Covid everyday.

I hope you Stay safe and well.

Its only climbing fast because of rowan foods. Any evidence of more general escalation?

Default Re: New Season threatened

Can anyone realistically see the National League resuming ?

When would it start and more importantly why ?

This situation commenced coming out of winter - well, here we are, a potential new season going into winter. Nobody has been vaccinated - how on earth will the game logistically be played and how will any activity be paid for with no paying customers ?

Away trips at Eastleigh and Dover - will the team have an overnight stay ? how will they travel ? lots of considerations every step of the way - again at cost.

Winter approaches, less daylight hours, more people in buildings for longer hours and complacency is already rife.

Heard a real interesting story the other day from someone who had recently had a death in the family. Due to the current situation he was told that cause of death was unconfirmed and post mortems were substantially delayed resulting in the body not being released for burial or cremation - of course 'if we put the death down to Covid 19' the body will be released forthwith - guess what the family decided and there again is yet another reason why the official figures cannot be believed one way or another.

Getting back to football - what are the chances next winter of it blowing up big time ? I fear a big spike simply because too many people out there have now dropped their guard - it will come - a footballer here and there will get infected, players will go into 14 day isolation, postponements will be rife - if the season starts would it have the chance to be completed ? and who inn their right mind would gamble on shelling out their hard earner for a season ticket.

It's going to be amazingly difficult at our level to resume.
