The way I see things happening is firstly the National League hint towards a resumption of their leagues with a reduced number of supporters present under strict controls. The club would then release season tickets telling supporters that they will probably need one to get into the ground. Starting off matches at 30% capacity which would mean around 2500 maximum in the stadium spread socially distant across all three stands . Those who have moaned all winter about Spencer , Pete, Keates and the board will presumably not apply and could catch a bus to watch the Jesters . That would leave plenty of space for those with season tickets to enjoy the matches. All problems solved!

Can anyone remember what the attendance we need to break even on home games is?

From my understanding of his post though, he was making a distinction between those who understandably are reluctant to go out ( the old and those shielding) and others who do need to stop being so scared. The latter do exist and are now a problem, most notably those who will not send their children back to school , which is actually a form of child neglect.

His basic premise, which in my view is correct, is that we have to get life back to some form of normality and manage the risks as best possible. This includes, at some point, mass events.

Back in March when there was around 150 deaths from Covid in a day most poeple were scared,worried because we had no idea what we were dealing with and no cure.People were shocked it coukd kill so many on a daily basis. Yesterday was the same amount of deaths. We still have no cure and we still know little about how to deal with it but wd have become complacent. 'Oh,there were only 150 deaths. Its all good,nearly gone!' Yeah,thats because of lockdown and people adering to social distancing measures on the whole.
Give me one good reason why yhings like football matches should be allowed to go ahead with crowds. The only reason The Premier League is up and running again is money. No other reason whatsoever. Otherwise,why aren't the lower leagues doing the same? Simple.It brings minimal benefit to our wonderful government. There are more people going to work in factories such as Airbus than we get through the turnstiles on your average week.
But thats ok because of the financial implications involved.

Breaking even after such a long time without any income will be immaterial. The authorities will not allow more than the maximum number deemed safe to attend social distancing. The stewards will have their work cut out keeping people apart. I would not be wanting to apply for a season ticket in the University end where all the bell ends who hurl abuse at the opposition stand . Can't see them wanting to sit in a seat apart from their mates can you?
One extra way of creating more room for home supporters would be to temporarily ban all away supporters. That could also be done by only allowing entry to season ticket holders. The only exceptions to social distancing should be for children accompanied by their adult parents but even that can be sorted by a season ticket.
What we cannot have is a free for all inside the stadium.

Think the last budget was based on a 4300 average and would have seen us lose 100k without cup runs or transfers.
If we're limited to crowds of around 2500 for months there will have to be some serious cuts somewhere

After last week's crowds another wave is a cert which will put back any chance of lower League football until sometime next year.

Ah ok..I was probably thinking much further back then..4300 is a hard average to maintain...2k was the average 30 years ago but I guess that's why we ended up in £4m debt over time

Say the season was to start on November 1 and as suggested the Welsh government will not allow spectator sport to resume this year, where does that leave us. Would we have to start behind closed doors or borrow an English ground in Chester or Shrewsbury. Anyway the financial implications are grave. Would the club decide to resign form the National league. I am sure, the FAW would welcome us with open arms and put us maybe in the Cymru Alliance ( like Colwyn Bay recently). Derbies soon with Gresford and Airbus Wow! I just hope that a common sense approach is taken by the Welsh govt and indeed the FAW and life may be able to return to some sort of normality in the next 6 months.
