Giving this a bump.

Reminder - tonight BBC 2 at 9.00 pm.

'Marvellous' - the true story of Neil Baldwin - not to be missed.

Would Nello consider the manager's job here as he's worked with clowns previously?

Like a good artist / a musical concert it builds slowly but do give yourself a few minutes to truly 'bed in' and get into it. Not just a football story but 'human relationships' involving his mother, his best friend and the clergy, and of course the then Stoke City manager Lou Macari who gave him the job as kit man at SCFC - you will be going around for the rest of the week exclaiming ' xxxxxxx is a very good friend of mine'.

The performance of Welsh actor Toby Jones in portraying Neil Baldwin would be impossible to be bettered - he was made for the part.
I wish he was Welsh but he was born in London and, as far as I know, he has never considered himself Welsh. I would be happy to be proved wrong on this one

Well blow me down with a feather - I stand corrected - sure I read it somewhere and just continued the assumption - thanks for the update.

Tobias Edward Heslewood Jones - born in Hammersmith, London.

I see his father was from Stoke on Trent so some link to the film / drama.

Regardless, an absolute fantastic performance and filming clips of Toby and the real Neil Baldwin and inserting them was a masterstroke. There were some other excellent performances too.

Lots of clips of the Racecourse, Colliers Park the old Victoria Ground and Crewe Alex's Gresty Road stadium which was the backdrop for the arrival of Lou Macari as the new manager of SCFC.
