Our catchment area is not an issue, plenty of Liverpool and Manchester based players we should be able to attract.
Absolute drivel. We've had plenty of players commute from the Birmingham area for training daily. Doesn't Keates live there currently?

Exactly, when you are looking at geography Wrexham is pretty well placed, you've got the entire Merseyside, Manchester and West Midlands areas that are commutable. Not an excuse really.

Always thought this. Barrow have to train in Manchester to attract players as they're so poorly based. Yeovil and Torquay have a better excuse than us too.

I think Stockport have got a really good strategy, targeting local, experienced quality with good contracts. We need to do the same, but we're probably in one of the weakest catchment areas.
It's funny but I think the opposite. I think with so many footballers looking for jobs, they will move where they need to.

It will be a buyers’ market once it kicks off. There should be plenty of good quality players available provided we have a decent budget and Keates improves his selection. Possible; but 2 big ifs.

Jonny Hunt

If there's a signing that symbolises the current regime, it's this one.

I'm not saying it's happening or not but this would be it.

Went to Hamilton vs Motherwell not long before football was suspended (don’t ask how I ended up there), and Johnny Hunt playing for Hamilton was abysmal. Based on that 90 minutes he seems to have really gone backwards. Not only that but he seemed to be a scapegoat amongst the Hamilton fans, which I thought was quite something because they were the worst team I saw last season, and that’s including watching Keatesball.

I have this weird feeling that Hunt will come back to Wrexham. He's one of those players where I think you could do worse, but you could certainly do better than him, too. I don't think it's the end of the world if he does sign but it'd be unambitious at best.

Does anyone know how Keates felt about Hunt whilst they were playing together for Wrexham?
