If we sign a good player then we'll ruin them.
There is now a list as long as the list of board secrets of players who are proven but were ruined here.

When we sign a shit player some fans will prematurely wet themselves and get all over excited, bang on about 'giving them a chance' laud them for 'working hard' whilst achieving nothing and the club will then indulge said player for years. Those same fans will then wonder and fail to grasp why we can't compete at the right end of the league.
Repeat next summer.

Under the current cult ownership and Keates management it's going to be a long, cold and bleak season.

Mitch Rose has now been released by Notts.... its so on

also might be worth looking at Tom Crawford who they have also released, ex Chester, midfielder, well rated by County fans and still young

You seem to have some optimism about next season still. What's ya poison and where can you buy it? (face mask on obvs)

A lot of interest in him so I doubt we will get a sniff but if we want any chance of staying up never mind finishing in the upper part of the table this is the sort of player we need to attract. Its funny with County not going up you would think they would look at keeping him. Worry for County is they lost out in the playoffs in L2 then got relegated into the conference so I guess they really are going to freshen the squad up.

Thats what a good manager will do , good signings that fit , and competing . pity we dont have one.

Why don't we just go all out and build a squad of volunteers? They will already be at the level that experienced pro's end up at, after working with our coaching staff.

Then if the crowd boo, they can gave a go if they think they can do any better.

Imagine the publicity a team of fans would attract.

Dover Statement
The Board have been busy assessing the clubs financial position and immediate future due to the very difficult circumstances of the COVID 19 pandemic.
The club is still unsure of its income in the coming season but the Board are clear income will greatly reduced.
The club has 14 players under contract for next season and at a meeting last week the clubs position was explained in detail to the players and staff.
At that meeting the players and staff were asked to accept a 20% short-term reduction in salary to assist the club in its efforts to stay solvent and keep the club alive bearing in mind the club will move from four to three days training.
The management have accepted the proposal, however, unfortunately the players have not agreed.
Therefore it is with great regret that I must announce that all of the squad are now available for free transfer as an initial immediate step.
I must further inform supporters that if a solution or further investment cannot be found by the end of August it is likely that the Directors will consider the club insolvent and as a consequence will be forced to cease trading.

So players not understanding the situation is not good , meaning smaller squads probably less money for them , very short sighted .
