I can see how a stat like "15 goals in the Scottish 2nd division" would look appealing, but surely, given the level he was at, Hughes should have got McIntosh down here on trial first?

He was the first summer signing for Hughes - not only was signing him ridiculous, Hughes was really quick to get his signature. Was mad to think there'd be much competition for him.

How would someone, who was employed in footgolf, and virtually no management experience even know about him.

I was told he was ‘extensively scouted’ like we have the money to send a scout to watch him play for the dog and duck week in week out, more likely his agent sent the YouTube link to all the clubs in England and sadly we took the bait.

Anyone from the highlands league score above 10 last season? Sure he’ll be signed as a replacement for Hooper.

Calum Gallagher and Dale Carrick got 11 and 12 respectively for the same team we got McIntosh from last season. Scouts must be licking their chops at these prospects.

Words got to be getting about up there that any player who comes down to Wrexham from Scotland will get one or two games and then spend the rest of the season not even on the bench.

I signed a lad called Cammy Smith on Footy Manager, sits behind my two (TWO?!) strikers and bangs them in from long range

snap him up

this scouting malarkeys easy isnt it

It’s also worse for us because any London Govt decision on fans in stadiums will be complicated by the politics of devolution and the desire of Dark Age Drakeford to play it differently.
Correct. And you will have noticed that the club statement had indicated those players with whom the club wants to have discussions in due course when the climate ( financial) is right.

When will Wrexham make a move? It's always best to get in early otherwise you're left with the players nobody wants.

Even clubs lower down are starting - Chorley signed former Wrexham loanee Ollie Shenton from Stoke yesterday.
Thise players Stevenage and Eastleigh have signed are rubbish. We'd be rightly kicking off if we signed aby of them.

The fact we haven't even started talks to retain the players identified from last seasons squad shows that we aren't going to be signing anyone yet. I doubt we even know what our budget is going to be.

The club (rightly) is getting a lot of criticism at the moment but this is a sensible decision my opinion. If we get more certainty and we STILL aren't making signings thats the time to get upset.
