Default How is there not a Bobby Grant thread?

I like him. I know others don’t. It’s not about that.

It’s this contract thing?!?

Never heard of anything like it at this level

Serious question.

What is there to like about him? I’m genuinely struggling to think of anything

Was he given a 2.5 year contract?

Serious question that because i only thought he came to the club for the remainder of the season when he had that bust up with Barton

6 months at first, then he took up the option to sign on for another 12 months, not the manager.

As for next season nobody knows how he's retained, it'd be simple to slip in he's been offered a deal and agreed in todays statement.

A bit like Manny, nobody knows. Imagine being a fans owned club and knowing this sort of information.

Trust, transparency - it doesn't exist anymore does it ?

There is a decent footballer in Bobby Grant - he was at Fleetwood and Accrington Stanley on loan where he may well stay until his contract ends or they or someone else takes him on - regardless he has and still is playing at a level above us - and scored goals which without his contribution would probably have sent us down.

It's all about the blend - some players thrive on a certain type of manager and team mates - others go the opposite direction - perhaps personality clashes were too much at Fleetwood and Wrexham - and perhaps the experienced John Coleman can bring out the best in him and play him in a position that brings out his best.

We are renowned in recent years for failing to bring payers on - in fact I would go so far as to say that virtually every decent prospect we sign is virtually destroyed - how can Mike Fondop bang in 6 goals in virtually as many matches and then 'disappear ? there are far too many players it's happening to so it's either some long standing problem behind the scenes, or the priority is defence built around Pearson and to hell with the final third - hoofball to an isolated lone hopeless case of a striker who is destined to be a failure regardless of his identity - one of life's true mysteries.

Surely you’ll have to ask bobby to see if he wants a thread dedicated to him?

It really is time for an explanation from the club.

Was Grant allowed to award himself a 2 year extension last summer? If so: (i) who at the club agreed to that? (ii) Why did the Leader believe it was one year extension last year?

If Grant awarded himself one year extension last summer, when was the further extension for next season agreed? Who at the club saw fit to do that?

Finally, someone needs to tell all the club's 'owners' (ha ha) when Grant's contract is actually due to finish. If it is a rolling contract, with him deciding each close season whether or not he wants another year, will he have the opportunity to do so yet again in summer 2021? That may seem ridiculous but with the history of incompetence at the core of the club, nothing would surprise me.
