Seems frightened of winning well.
Just hope he's got some decent players lined up but keeping Jennings is a bit of a mystery.
Sad to see the younger players being released, confirms my suspicion that DK isn't interested in the development of our own players. In that respect I firmly believe that Flynn would have been a better appointment.
Ultimately he's living on borrowed time and unless we're top 5 by Christmas, I can envisage the taxi revving up.

I agree that he probably isn’t interested in the younger players, but in all likelihood every club will be cutting them this coming season. It will be quality over quantity with what’s currently going on.

Squad sizes will be cut. If it gets stretched during the season I’d image we’d be looking to pick up loans/free transfers.

I read the retained list differently, in that it is worded carefully. It doesn't say offers will be made to the likes of Jennings when a date is known for the return of football - rather that they will open discussions with them.

I actually would be happy with Jennings staying. It seems to me that he is a leader in the dressing room, and that's important.

that's pretty much the same thing though isnt it? They simply can't make an offer now as they don't know when the season will start.....and avoids them paying any new signings until they have to!

This is the squad that was bottom of the league last season. If we are aiming much higher then the changes are not radical enough

They could have said that they'd look to make them an offer when a date is known for the season to start.

You could read it as keeping them on the back-burner, and whether any offer is made depending on who else becomes available. Seems to me it's been written in a deliberately ambiguous way.

I don't think he should have been brought back due to the fans divide its perpetuated but if you take the emotion out of it he did will here first time and I can see no option but to support him and see how he does with his own squad in a new season. If he struggles then fan power will doubtless see him sacked anyway

Keates' first spell:

Played 73 - Won 25 - Drawn 26 - Lost 22

A win percentage of 34.2% which is less than his second term in charge
