Can somebody give the positive counter argument
Having been locked down in the South of Italy for about four months, my mind has been playing football tricks. I have a Wrexham fan ever since my dad took me to my first ever game when I was about six. It was against Portsmouth under floodlights in the early 1960s, and I have been hooked ever since. I am no conspiracy theorist about Covid 19, and my best mate was ill for nine weeks with it, but I seriously do believe that now people are trying to gain an advantage because of it. In Italy, the large companies have grown while small companies have withered and are the point of dying. The rules that have come in now about distancing and cleaning mean that you need money and lots of it to pick yourself up and continue. I think that this is going to happen in football. (Hope you can give me a counter argument). They will say you can start again but you need to do……. They are going to make it so expensive and put so many rules in place that many teams are going to either give up because they can’t , or try and run at a major loss. Is this the end of football as we know it? Let’s face it non-league teams are going to be the first to go. Could it be that all that will be left will be the corporate big clubs, who, like Amazon etc will only benefit by having less little clubs around . Supporters will have no choice but to buy SKY/BT and fund the premiership or buy a season ticket with one of the big clubs. I hope my club can survive, but I am pessimistic. What do you think? |

Re: Can somebody give the positive counter argument
Mostly agree but to be fair there's quite a lot of teams in the football league who are in a worse state than a lot of non-league teams. Overspending and not living within their means. Macclesfield, Oldham, Southend too name a few and the Wigan ownership fiasco.

I agree. Although it is not just sport. Globalists, corporates and technocrats control pretty much every aspect of life nowadays. A colleague of mine was writing about this stuff some thirty years ago, and every one of his predictions has come true. Be it, politics, sport, MSM, the education and entertainment sectors, the new world order now pulls all of the strings and controls pretty much every aspect of life and thought in the west. Silicon Valley and China know more about our own lives than anyone knows about themselves and the information is sold off to corporates, who then pull all of the strings. There is some good news though, a lot of people here have started cancelling their sky/BT subscriptions and there is a huge campaign to defund the BBC, while a lot are also refusing to renew EPL season tickets, because they are tired of football clubs becoming so ideological and political. Whether this boycott can drip down for the benefit of lower league football is yet to be seen, but it has been noted by EPL. |

Re: Can somebody give the positive counter argument
Quite a lot of people in England got caught when Sky global started targeting the VPN's that provide the service that enables the boxes to be used. A number of vpn's were forced into bankruptcy due to legal proceedings and were forced to hand over the details of their own subscribers. Sky's own lawyers then recorded the names and started to contact the vpn subscribers, informing them that they might start legal proceedings against the subscribers to recover the lost revenue.
