Just been reading in The Times that the government is expected to announce a maximum of 50% capacity at sporting events when they get going, but potentially a cap at 17% in cases where it's harder to distance.

Assuming we can have 50% capacity that works out to just under 5k at the racecourse. That would be more than enough in the current circumstances.

Some clubs will struggle with that very badly.

Expect us to start with around 2000 which will satisfy all the season ticket holders. I still think that will be the easiest way of recording for track and trace. Pull in a report from the bar codes presented at the turnstile. Others would have to buy a ticket before the day of the match and give a telephone contact number. Every other seat empty to keep 1 metre apart maybe. And compulsory wearing of masks to assist not having to keep 2 metres apart. How does that sound to Wxm Boy?

That sounds sensible and feasible to me, albeit I think October might be a tadge optimistic.

As for our signing new players: probably wise not to rush in just yet. Until the NL and FA confirm a start date we do not want to be paying out salaries unnecessarily. And I also think some better FL players will become available as FL clubs also reduce the size of their squads.

League One and League Two confirmed starting date is 12th September. What that means for the National League I don't know.

It sounds like head in sand bollocks to JND you're continually pushing season tickets so 2000 can only attend yes? How long before the club goes the same way as Bury? A club who's main income is through the turnstiles, those attending in your scenario sitting well apart, it's hard to stay awake watching Keates boring hoofball as it is, in Winter their could be a lot of cases of hypothermia sat in a coma in a dead atmosphere, friends sitting 2 metres apart with masks, the bar in the techend isn't 2 metres from the filthy ancient toilets block....kiosks queues 2 metres apart will be out the gate... A slow death because those alienated without a season ticket will not go again on top of the fans already lost because of the amateur running of the once proud club.

Given alot of the teams we are playing will bring very few fans is there a case IF we do need extra capacity for Wrexham fans to say no away fans unless they are bringing over say 200? Gives another big chunk of room to space out fans.

Like i say if needed and given the turd football last season i doubt it will be.

Can any one really see the National League grounds in Wales opening on Sept 12th? At present the R rate has increased and is reported at 1.0 across the UK. In these circumstances how many people will want to attend the Racecourse in less than 2 months time?

I'd go with that but as the away fans would also have to register for track and trace better NO away fans in the stadium in the coming season. That would be a massive boost for crowd control, social distancing, cut costs for stewarding and security, smaller police presence required. Plus wearing masks -- Wrexham FC ones of course.

No I cannot see it on 12/9. But I can see it late September /early October by which time The National League will have been able to see how football in the EFL with fans present is working out.
