You couldn’t make this level of buffoonery up, the incompetence of the board and WST is astronomical. Even as ‘volunteers’ they are fully accountable but their egos are through the ether and their skin even thicker than a whale omelette.

This is the biggest issue.

Some of them genuinely seem to believe volunteer status = no accountability.

Darren Ferguson had always been mooted as a potential Wrexham manager prior to the days of Geoff Moss et al. A member of 'The Lager Club clique' stated however, during a Wrexham FC feature on 'Soccer Night,' a HTV Wales programme presented by Jonny Owens during the mid-2000s, that it was 'rooster's turn to be manager' if and when Denis Smith stepped down. Peter Jones was present during the broadcasting of that programme which came direct from the lager club and he may indeed have made that very utterance! I wondered at that time who are these amateurish chumps pontificating such nonsense? Sadly, these so-called chumps have been in control of Wrexham FC for far too long and it is very difficult to break that mould!

When Denis went, the choice of next manager was between Carey and Fergusson, but Rooster may well have made a good manager, not sure why that suggestion would be regarded as nonsense? He is apparently well thought of in the game as a coach and has done well at Stoke. Also Steve Cooper was still here at the time, he’s done ok too! Looking back, we were spoilt for choice at that time.

Good coaches don't necessarily make good managers.

Turning down Ferguson was barmy considering his father was in charge of the biggest team in the world at the time.

True enough. I actually think the mistake was letting Denis go.

I don't think anyone will argue with you on that one.
