This corrupt and incompetent board has blown the Danny Ward money and historical has made bad decision after another. And you want to trust them and give them your hard earned without knowing how much they want? Ridiculous!
Colliers Park was offered to the club in the early days that would have been the time to ask the fans for money and it would have been ours again.

And having our own training ground with pitches designed for our needs seems to me to be a real competitive advantage.

There has been a floodlights beef on that area of land before, where residents won.

There is an active group connected to the Groves site who are already viewing any attempts to change or move covenants with suspicion.

One plus point I would guess is if we can't use the Groves the council, who are in effect evicting us from the 9 Acre, will come under pressure to help facilitate another alternative - you would hope!
This is the bit I'm finding really concerning. There doesn't appear to be any back-up plan at all if there's an issue with the covenant.

I think there is such disunity within the fans now that the club is a "dead man walking". Just a matter of time in my opinion. We need everyone pullling together to help the club survive but I for one have lost faith over the years - not one event, a culmination of many. Just don't enjoy my football at Wrexham anymore plus the shambles on and off the field. I don't know how they have the audacity to ask for more money.

It could be easier to overturn the covenant for the playing fields than the building - I do not know. However if the process was easy you have to wonder why the cash strapped local authority has not done it to open out a possible prime development site, both on the fields, and the building itself.

Bear in mind WCBC have said before (2017) the ambition was to put one or two new schools on that site - however it is basically easier/cheaper for them to build a new school.

There is a joint will from club / council to move to the Groves, however the planning and legal system is outside of their control, and that is my concern with eggs-in-one-basket.

Found this on the Wrexham.Com forum.

"The council get the covenant removed, Wrexham football club take it over for a minimum period, council take the land back then sell it to the highest bidder."

Doesn't really make any sense, does it?
They can't take it back for 99 years.

As we have a 99 year lease, they'd have to buy that back from us first and we'd have to agree to sell it, at the price we deemed appropriate.

Surely any land we obtain will have these kinds of issues? Covenants, planning permission etc. Remember how long it took to get Colliers sorted?

The advantages here are that the land isn't costing us anything, and we have a sympathetic landlord who has offered to sort out the issues for us.
