That’ll never get approved.

Are Wrexham one of the 12 clubs wanting to bring in the cap.?

Can't see clubs voting this through and nor should there be a salary cap. You can bet we're one of the 12 clubs

What has our budget been in the last few seasons?

Financial fair play should be brought in instead.

Yeah all for that but just a blanket salary cap is plain wrong. If some owner wants to do what Salford did what's wrong with that? It'll be clubs like us who are going backwards and are jealous of others who will be pushing this.

First team expenses were about 1.4 million in the last accounts if I recall correctly. What percentage of that is wages isn't disclosed but was probably close to the 900k figure.

Anyway, it's a crazy idea. As others have said, do FFP if you want restrictions of some kind. You could have a club turning over millions and not allowed to spend it.

a salary cap would balance things in favour of smaller clubs. Basically we want a model that favours big clubs. i.e. you can spend as much money as you want as long as its funded by yourselves. Not sure what the real difference is between that or having a sugar daddy.

Re: Potential Non-League Salary Cap

900k is still £45k for 20 people, but is that for the squad or includes manager, assistant, coaches and medical staff

Re: Potential Non-League Salary Cap

What happens to relegated clubs who will no doubt have salaries which exceed the cap? Do we dock them points if they can't shift enough of their players or give them an unfair advantage on the rest of the league?

Wasted.

Definitely would prefer Financial Fair Play over a salary cap. It'd stop another Salford from coming in and buying the league.

Something needs to be done, though. I just don't know whether it's an arbitrary salary cap like this.

Would a salary cap favour those clubs who were able to load their teams with loan players whose parent club continue to pay their wages or the majority of their wages?

No. There are rules and limits of the number of loan players you can sign and have in your matchday squad.

So if a salary cap looks viable for the National League, are they going to apply these rules to the Premier League, where wages are crazy and disgusting.

It will Include backroom Staff otherwise everyone appoints player managers and player coaches to boost their budget

It’ll never get passed but obviously doesn’t affect us as that is our cap.....

Re: Potential Non-League Salary Cap

I am sure that Stockport would do what another club in that area did to UEFA.......

In fairness, clubs would also try to find away around the rules. I am not sure the NL are that bright or competent enough to enforce such a rule.
