This came up when looking at that on YouTube. Quality of the video is horrendous but what an absolutely phenomenal left foot the man had. This goal is genius at work stuff and in a final at the Millennium too.

He was a genius with the ball. If we had him in his prime down here he'd be the best player in the league by a country mile and would probably take us up single-handedly.

We did have him pretty much in his prime and he play a massive part in a promotion season.

As you say, absolute genius with a ball. I can still remember his audition for us at Rhyl which was off the charts.

I imagine we'll still be talking about Trundle in 20 years time, then again, we might be talking about how good Paul Rutherford was the way it's going.

Worrying thing is some of our fan base will be talking about Ruthers, some of the comments on Twitter I have read recently about him and Dibble are hilario.

No, I meant if we had him in his prime in this league.

I still vouch, to this day, that his goal away at Bristol Rovers in the 02/03 promotion season is the best goal I've ever seen live - at any level.

It's just astonishing skill and composure.

What a wonderfully skilful player he was.

I’d probably fall over even attempting it. I couldn’t even strike the ball that well with all the time in the world haha
