Potential £100,000 Loss Of Sponsorship?

Interesting post on a FB group by Rob Owen:

And do either of those "screenshots" state that there is NO money available other than from future fan funding? No. it doesn't. You have to accept that if there was a chunk of Ward money intended to fund or part-fund the Groves project, then the Covid situation coming out of the blue together with no revenue at the turnstiles, nor advance ST receipts, nor concert money etc will inevitably have affected the situation since the proposals were originally put forward. Add to that the concern that a major sponsor may withdraw £100,000 of funding for the season as a direct result of the unnecessary muckraking carried out by a so-called fan of the club, and it is easy to see that between now and when (or if) the final decision is taken about the project and some of the funding is required, that SOME extra funding will be required to replace revenue lost for the above reasons.

Presumably referring to DB?

If DB withdraws sponsorship then the blame is with the board for throwing him under the bus to protect themselves.

That would be my view as well. Interesting to see different people's takes on it.

There is no way that the "muckraker" can be blamed for that.

That falls squarely at the door of the WAFC Board member(s) who falsely denied any knowledge of Don's good gesture which led the WST Board to want to investigate the finances if his time at the club.

If said board members had simply said that yes it was done with their knowledge but they withheld it from the WST board, then it would have been the exact same situation as with the lady who bailed out the club.

Instead Don's integrity was called into serious question in public.

I think all the sponsors need to take a long hard look at the situation , and ask this board for some explanations , oh yes and get anything said on film as proof .

If course it is.

No doubt they are all reading this including that buffoon Rob Owen who has strangely gone quiet on here recently, can't think why. Anyway, gentlemen, if your reading this, I'm afraid all this mess ( and it is a complete mess) is all on you. Period.

Any of you fancy joining the 'Wrexham fans with no hidden agendas' on Facebook. Anybody who questions the board are hounded by loons. It's worth joining.

You're fliping deluded if you think the cause of loss of sponsorship is the info that was released or the person who released it

If the board acted with an ounce of integrity then the so called muckraker wouldn't need to dig up information because there wouldn't be anything to dig up would there.

Stop looking for someone else to blame all the time and grow up. It's about time people on the board took some responsibility instead of tapping the volunteer badge and telling you to stand for election if you think you can do better.
