- During a board meeting which I think was minuted, the club decided to reach out to attempt a mediation - This was declined, for differing reasons amongst group members none of whom I'll speak on behalf of but for me the EGM was a push for specific items to be addressed. The club have a tendency to steamroll people to get their own way and while the votes received to call an EGM came close ultimately failing to hit the number required, refusing mediation seemed like the right thing to do. This was a collective attempt to make a change for, believe it or not what a number felt were the right reasons... Going to mediation to be talked down from a ledge felt to me like an insult to all those who signed up - Also, declining the invite was out of further concerns given the personal harassment people started to experience. There were several abusive emails, some of which I managed to trace to the same temporary proxy email service based overseas albeit using different email addresses. No idea who was behind that and baseless allegations do none of us any favours. - However beyond the EGM and its subsequent failure there has been representation through reform group, with significant effort going into this process - I noticed that full credit being taken by the club on that one incidentally. Just to make it clear, the egm wasn't coming from anywhere other than love for the club. The culture of ridicule, harassment and threats are however so toxic that I for one am on the precipice of turning my back on the club altogether at this stage and can't say how much that prospect hurts. - The EGM would not have achieved anything, and the training ground vote highlights this. .. Until something is done to heal the rift in fanbase then unless you back the board 100% then Wrexham is no longer for you, you're just a passenger. No different really to how a privately run club would operate, but it's now not OK to raise your voice. However I'm deeply saddened that the respective club and trust board have actively encouraged the disdain for sub-optimal fans who are not 100% behind the trust model by refusing to even discuss or acknowledge Petes comments over social media. |
