Re: the vote - results out all resolutions PASSED
Looking back to my previous posts on turnout:
2018: 302 as percentage of 2738 = 11% turnout / 89% of members did not take part in voting 2019: 7% of 3565 is 249 people who vote / decide the outcomes. 2020: 15% turnout so 414 of 2685 voting or 84.6% of members did not take part in voting As QR said a year or two ago there appears to be a 300-400 core of people bothered about it all. Rest like a discount perhaps, and gives an impression of a larger mandate / 'ownership' than there is. To put that in terms of Wrexham, in the most recent council elections saw some (IMHO) terrible turnouts - Plas Madoc (27%) and Wynnstay (26%) etc. |

Re: the vote - results out all resolutions PASSED
Do we think they're accurate approved minutes this time? Assuming they are, that's a 60%+ drop off in a few months. Definitely backs up the idea that a lot of people are basically joining for the season ticket discount. (And, of course, if this is the case then membership will presumably rebound somewhat if/when we can sell season tickets for this season.)

Re: the vote - results out all resolutions PASSED
Interesting that the vote for the Training ground was the lowest positive of all motions at 77%. Still think that there's a lot of work to do to get the project over the line.
While some have doubts about the location, others doubts about funding and costing and the details there is little alternative if we want our own facility(Still open to debate) Many will have voted yes to generally give support to the project but will still have reservations. Unfortunately votes like this can't show all options. I am yet to be convinced that a project of this nature will give us better than what we've got at 9 acre unless the pitches are installed with proper drainage. This would result in a set up cost, based on the estimates, of over £150,000. |
