Last time I saw Carl was on one of the supporters coaches to a xmas match at Alfreton Town - I think I am right in saying he has spent the last few years in a care home.

First met Carl and got to know him when he was a programme seller at the back of the Yale Stand back in the 80's - was part of the furniture and a true diehard whose commitment to following the town would take some beating.

I have lots of memories - remember talking to him at Vauxhall Motors in a pre season match one summer evening - the discussion amongst several got around to how many games we all attended - Carl had hardly missed a game in many a year and was almost apologetic that he missed one due to the death of his mother.

And who remembers the pre season at Connahs Quay Nomads when he walked around the pitch by himself to the dug outs to give Dean Saunders some earache - ended up being chucked out of the ground by the stewards to the amusement of many and probably Carl himself.

A columnist in the Leader - always looked forward to reading his forthright news after a match - somehow they meant more because you knew he was one of us and had been there.

The story of winning a barrel of Guiness and having to get the barrel back prompt was true - he told me himself - I think he downed it in a weekend and didn't share it with many lol !

In latter years he never seemed to be without his trademark Bluetooth hanging out of his ear - always made a point of stopping and having a chat.

I'm just having a beer and reflecting on time - another true red who has left us - thinking of all the times we shared travelling around the country in the back of a supporters coach - Carl T - he lived and breathed Wrexham FC - a larger than life character.

This made me really sad. As a bunch have said he was a legend.
I shall annoy the wife with a very loud rendition of "Oh me lads, you should have seen the Tunnah....." when I drink a beer in his honour later.
RIP

Wrexham Lej
Remember him flashing his Crosville pass at away grounds to get free entry telling the stewards he drive the supporters bus
