Crazy that board cannot see merits in this.Clearly the protection is not there for young players but young players who are good enough can boost the first team squad.Will be cheaper than the journeymen too so no brainer -the board have openly stated thst cash is an issueAlso some youngsters develop later then others so can be on pro terms before they are poached.
The theory of waiting for promotion to improve the youth structure is crazy as we will not get promoted under fans ownership.

This is a voluntary role that can be filed by a suitable WST board member or they can coopt those skills if they don’t have them so high current methods of appointing directors is available to them
It shouldn’t cost anything and any increased running costs should be offset by sponsorship as we are not currently getting anywhere close to actively pursuing sponsors for the CoE

An excellent proposal, well done to those involved with it.

As ever, my only concern is that it would require our current owners to have a change of mindset. An admission they have gone down the wrong route and need to change. They seem to be a pig headed bunch so unless there is serious change at the top then I'm struggling to such proposals getting off the ground any time soon.

Well, first off Adrian's put a lot of effort into this one, it is well researched and well written. Appreciate it is lengthy but I hope people give it the time and respect it deserves by reading it prior to voting instead of just saying things like "it'll cost too much".

You may be right about struggling to get it over the line, but I can't help thinking that if all of us just roll over it paves the way for those at the top to go even more unchecked than they already do. As much as I felt like turning away over the last couple of weeks we have to try.

Every fan should get behind this.

Be interesting to see what arguments are against this and a high YES vote should pre-empt a review outcome. This should be an area that the whole fan base can get behind and bring back a bit of belief that we can start to want to go in the same direction.


A rider with this would be, our fanbase need to show patience and a great deal of support for the young players. Far too many have been on the receiving end of criticism in the past, always being compared to previous kids like Hughes, Owen and Hardy etc. and the bigger picture needs to be seen that the youth football is as high on the agenda as the first team at Wxm AFC. Constant comparisons are made with the success at Crewe but previous managers there have had stick for spending as much time on the training ground with the kids as the the first team.

Good luck with this..Very good resolution only if you a brain dead would you be against it (stand up the board).
As we know WST is not a democratic organisation and expect 75% vote for it to pass.So if 400 vote it only needs a 101 votes for it to fail.
I hope it gets through but suspect it wont if that happens I hope more fans will join the Notapennymore initiative because that will show the board that the silent majority will be taking our club back

Could be a role for Gareth Owen. He’s doing really well for himself in the FAW. In charge of courses in North Wales I believe. Former player, would have followed a similar path when he played, loves the club.
