That should surely go through then. I'll stick a complaint in to them, and hopefully others will follow suit. The more kicking up a fuss about this, the better.

Is it 66% or 66.66% the requirement? And what's the rounding up criteria?

Chances are that the difference between the result being carried or not is probably one person

One person being the difference should be a case for the board to adopt the policy in my opinion. If they are bound by the constitution to respect the results of the vote, they should put it to another vote with the percentage being reduced to 50%.

It's clear the majority of fans want this and by not adopting the policy they are going against fans wishes, and not for the first time.

That’s why I checked it - yes was just short of double no so 60% looked low until you realise abstentions are classed as no’s. There is a strong argument for adopting resolution R given 65.74%

Then the meeting was null and void after the maximum 2 hours 30 minutes, as the vote to extend it was a NO by your criteria.

My argument is as absurd as yours. However, BV has a valid point.

An abstention is clearly neither for or against and therefore should not be included in the total number of votes cast; its simply not a vote!

Must surely be worth dropping an email to the WST so that its at least put on the agenda for their first meeting next week. Who would arbitrate in the case of the WST disagreeing with the proposal of omitting abstentions and having a recount - Supporters Direct?

Yes. I did some calculation on this for Resolution R
360 votes were cast, less 33 abstentions makes 327
66% of 327 = 215.82
Yes votes cast = 215

Therefore in the above scenario it makes a significant difference.

I agree with Bagger Vance’s summary of abstentions.

I Abstained against one motion yesterday. I didn’t disagree with the motion but it could be deemed I have a professional conflict of interest in that area.
That doesn’t mean that my vote should be counted against the motion.

Two thirds of 327 is 218 so the resolution still wouldn't have quite passed either way.

2 points. The trust haven't dismissed this resolution entirely but this should be actively pursued following the policy review.
Secondly, irrespective of the 65.74% vote. The pass mark required was 75%.
Personally think it's a good idea that should be explored, costed and re - presented for consideration. Maybe one of the players could take on this role if they were interested in coaching towards the end of their career.
