The club is doing the same things its done for god knows how many seasons now and yet people expect something different. Well here's a newsflash for you, nothing changes if nothing changes.

Our recruitment will be the same if not worse now the budget is much reduced. So player quality is highly likely to be worse, which is a frightening thought.

The manager is the same so don't expect a football revolution. This is the manager who served up the worst football we've ever seen and it got us nowhere. He then left and relegated his 'hometown club'. Hardly the man for the job unless you talk to pixies and fairies at the bottom of your garden.

The board are the same. So the same people who don't learn from their mistakes are still at the controls. They tend to have a calamity or a 'shoot themselves in the foot' moment on a regular basis now so lets see what disasters unfold this season.
All in all their performance has been on the decline for years now although after Ricketts left it plummeted like a stone.

So basically all the ingredients are either of poor quality, not fit for purpose or just plain wrong.

Put a load of ingredients together that are wrong and your food ain't going to taste good, it'll be rank and will be left to rot.

Barrow were 50-1 last season and us and chesterfield were well fancied so just shows how wrong these odds can be.

What I thought would be a blip in our history when we were relegated into this division, is fast approaching the point where I can say I’ve spent more years watching us as a non league team. Past seasons I’ve always been optimistic thinking it will be our year and get excited by the new signings in the summer. This year I’m so underwhelmed by it all that I would accept mid table mediocrity. We’re going nowhere fast, too many problems are not being addressed. We’ve had much better squads down here than we do now and still missed out, all hope of promotion has now evaporated.

Who does everyone fancy to do well ?

Stockport County and Notts County - potential is there if they could get their acts together.

Are we in the same bracket as Chesterfield - serious under performers given our fanbase size ?

Hartlepool United ? how about Torquay United ? Barnet ?

it's an absolute guessing game - more so now this coming season than it has ever been previously - a club could be performing really well and suddenly their squad could be hit by Covid - I can realistically see it happening at some stage - postponements / fixture pile ups - but what's the alternative option ? try and complete a season or go out of business ?

And if Barrow and Harrogate Town can go up it must give hope for the rest.
