We could watch the game if the ground was surround by shops and pubs etc, cos its safer in these places don't you know, but its not ok to sit in a stadium, outside, to watch sport.

These pre season friendlies will be as competitive as a kick around with the kids on a beach. I suppose we cannot flood the team with subs as we hardly have 11 to start the game!

My son is media officer for a team a few steps lower in non league. He has instruction, which comes from the government, that pre season games cannot be advertised. He attends games and provides a report and interviews after kick off. He has a radio slot on a Saturday to discuss non league football. He’s done some of these whilst at pre season games but couldn’t discuss the game and who was playing.

So the first time fans know that a friendly has been played is at full time.

Restrictions are lifting for these clubs but at National League I suspect they will still be in place.

It’s all about keeping fans away.

There are some planned trial EFL & NL games with fans during pre-season, but the list is under wraps currently.

It was on sky last night that steps 3-6 of nonleague can have crowds of 15% of capacity from 22 August and 30% the week after (but have to have a 15% capacity game first, can't go straight to a 30% capacity)
