Default WST shares

I paid monthly for years to the WST share scheme, does that go to local charities if we are bought out?. I think it came to over £500 if i remember rightly.
I'm not bothered if it does but would appreciate some acknowledgment from someone as to where or what happened to it.

BTW I am voting yes to R&R unless something dodgy comes up in the presentation (which wont happen).

I would have thought yours ( and mine) membership fees would have gone to day to day running of club.

Not bothered and certainly don't want it back but just wondered. Maybe resurrect the WST share scheme to build up a pot for the future ( if the WST will still be a thing)?

I've had a £10 standing order to the WST for years. A lot of that will have gone into the running of the club which is what I hoped it would have been used for.

Anything left in the coffers when the sale hopefully goes through I'd like to see split between the CoE and a variety of local charities.

but i assume this is different. You bought shares as opposed (probably as well as) paying your membership. I think you are entitled to ask what happens now ?

I think Oswestry Red is referring to the community share scheme

WST Community Shares - Red Or Dead

This is separate to normal trust membership , and If anyone has questions regarding it they should probably contact treasurer@wst.org.uk .

The trust will continue even if the sale of the club goes through. The remaining assets only get distributed to local charities if the WST ceases to exist.

if the takeover is succesful i would happily continue to contribute monthly to the WST... as it may come in handy farther down the line in the future.

would also in time acrue lots of interest if kept the WST funds in a nice interest account

Interest rates are as low as 0.01% don't spend it all at once 😂
