I highly doubt that the people running the club would take a risk like that. They have never done so before, and have been frequently criticised for it in fact - and I can't see them starting now. They must have a plan for covering any shortfall this season.

Legally, they are obliged to. But that plan was not revealed when they said they had budgeted to lose £500k.
