if, as it seems there are high level investors ready to come in and if we were allowed in to games, this alone would increase attendances, if after making player purchases a winning streak ensued the attendances would increase again as we have seen in the past, and if we were at the top of the league come last few matches there would be capacity attendances, if we are the new Salford or Forest Green i for one dont give a sit, bring it on

Other thing with us getting back into the League that would be good for attendances would be the increase in local derbies. How long has it been since we played the likes of Crewe, Port Vale, Shrewsbury etc etc.

It feels like a lifetime ago. The novelty of playing Braintree and Co has long worn off. Getting back on that circuit, maybe even competing would mean the world to most. God know we've paid our dues, if any club deserves a bit of good fortune...

There would be so many younger fans who have never even seen us in the league and if they did it probably would have been all the period from 2005 onwards when it was just a matter of time when we’d drop out of the league.

I yearn for the mid 90s days of mid-table mediocrity in Division 2, with a cup run usually thrown in.

Ah yes i remember them well. We used to play good football and flirt with the top 6. Funny thing was we seldom broke 3500 crowd.

I was thinking this the other day. There is a while generation of young fans who only know us as a non league team, which is mad to think it really.

Those summers when we'd have just fallen short of the play offs and sometimes we didnt seem to sign anyone new... If they'd just been able to back Flynn a bit more to give that very good team something extra we could have made it to Division 1/Championship amd then who knows what may have happened.

Seeing teams like Bournemouth, Brighton, Stoke Wigan, Fulham, Hull etc in the Premiership over the years we've been down here, teams we would regularly play in the league, has been a real kick in the teeth.

in the nineties i yearned the seventies, now i realise just how spoilt we really have been,
the nineties were glorious compared to the last ten years.
There is a part in Shawshank Redemtion where Dufrey is explaining to red how he didnt see the storm coming or realised it would last so long, seen that film so many times and every time i see that part i think of where we are now, or at least before this week, its time we slide down a pipe and wash off the past in the river

If you mean wash off the last 10 years I would agree but certainly not the rest of our glorious and not so glorious history . I dont think we were "spoiled" in the seventies we got what we deserved and appeared to have lots of cash to spend just think how much we paid to re sign Joey Jones !!

I recall the days we were in the old Div 4 (Div 2 today ) watching our team under the old Tech End I certainly didnt think we were spoiled then but I still enjoyed the football and things seemed much more equal then ( pre Premier League !! )
We had the Floodlight Cup to look forward to and seemed to play lots of North west teams and of course our team was made up by quite a few North West based players not South of England based as we have today .

Happy days

I don't regret one minute of supporting the 'Town' since my first game in 1957. We've certainly had the best, and worst, experiences.

I think CF is right to point out the possible problems we may have from current players from 'down south'. It is only natural they might miss their families and the support that comes with it. This could be even worse if they are not getting a regular game. I really hope that Dean understands the importance of encouraging a squad mentality with players willing to support each other - life in Wrexham is very different from London.
