We very rarely broke 3500 for we had owners that would give false attendances,I was laughing the other day watching a youtube clip of Wrexham Burnley from 1990 the crowd that day was 3900 there was over 2500 Burnley fans and the yale and kop had a good crowd in them, not sure how many would have been in the mold rd stands. This happened regular until the wst took over. |

[QUOTE=EnglishRed;2385356]I was thinking this the other day. There is a while generation of young fans who only know us as a non league team, which is mad to think it really.
Agreed but how loyal they are. There are a couple of young lads who are often on the train from Bidston, they go away a lot , saw them at Rangers , I think they live in West Kirby. They can't have seen anything but non league at the Racecourse. How great it would be for them to be rewarded with league football. |

In the day crowd would be put as lower as they would be on fiddle.
Trust inflate the gates as every st holder would be included. If we sold 2200 st's and no one turned up there would still be 2200 on the gate |

Re: Are we the next Salford/Forest Green/Fleetwood?
when i said we were spoilt in the past i meant in relation to the last decade, in the seventies we certainly were spoilt, not all the time no but generally, europe and cup runs were quite regular culminating with finally getting promotion and not a bad first season,we did not realise what was to come, the football after fynnie took over was so imensely better than the last few years, we were spoilt but did not realise it, its only now we can really appreciate what we did have

dont get me wrong im all for listening to "investors" plans etc etc.. and as you said we would all love a few spare quid to flash about... but we have to be careful and cautious so history doesnt repeat itself.we dont want to be another Macc... to me those who blindly want all the investment we can get without thought.. as the stupid ones who are not looking at potential downfalls. |
