From 2004 A family who fell for Macc - Manchester Evening News
?

"BROTHERS Amar and Bashar Alkadhi have pledged to invest "as much money as the club needs" into Macclesfield Town."

""We will not get the club into a poor state of financial health," said Amar."

Wonder what period that is for? There are a lot on RP who wanted him as Wrexham manager, with these figures perhaps it's a good job he never got the job

the thing is thats what a manager who gets promotion gets paid(or not in his case),thats why we havnt been promoted, its no good with a manager who is prepared to take advice off a penpushin office worker

Even when they won the National League title a few years back they were creaking and players were not getting paid - heading the same way as Bury and there are likely to be even more - Southend United ?

Should the football world bale them out ? there are enough big clubs out there paying astronomical wages to individual players.

Esther Rantzen was on Breakfast TV talking about the BBC and pointing out Gary Lineker is taking a £400,000 pay cut whilst pensioners over 75 no longer are entitled to a free TV licence - it's a similar situation down on 'the grass' - the Football League could surely band clubs into a preservation society to help out those in financial trouble - but there again I suppose some would abuse it - football stinks in reality - the only possible saviours are probably the fanbase of Macclesfield Town itself - and perhaps aided by supporters of other clubs - however they would have to find a way of standing on their own two feet eventually.

Macc have been in trouble financially for years , lets face it their fanbase is small , therefore income is low. Sol Campbell probably fleeced them ,if he ever got paid in full.
We are relatively sound financially , but that could change at any time this season.
I'm coming round to the idea of outside investors but they have to be the right people.
well said

Good job there are gonna be no big crowds allowed anytime soon or that could have been costly for us missing out on a xmas gate.

Asking Premier league clubs to provide monies that can be used to pay players wages etc is fine for me. But that is just emergency help. Asking them to prop up clubs that basically mis-managed their way out of our league while we were trying to do it right is just plain wrong.
I don't care what prem players earn - good luck to them.

Point taken - and a very valid one.

You / we could theoretically hand money over to Macclesfield Town and Bury forever more - and it be squandered by mismanagement and a gambling policy of spend, spend, spend and hope we gain success - however, it's the grassroot fanbase that ultimately suffers - perhaps the League needs to have more control of clubs / their income and expenditure - they shouldn't have to in reality but the knock on effect for the rest of the league members is catastrophic - looks like we now have 2 free days over Christmas and the new year before a ball has even been kicked.
