Desperately sad for Macc and their fans and I completely understand the comparisons with the money flying around in the top flight.

However should crooked owners be bailed out by rich clubs? Should unsustainable clubs be propped up in a kind of zombie state? It’s a conundrum and there by the grace of God go Wrexham

No and No. However ,for me, Transfer fees should have a 'tax' which goes into a fund to pay the wages of players left stranded by these idiots.

Yet another north west club bites the dust. Not the best of grounds to go to especially as we rarely got anything from those visits. However good luck to the supporters and let's hope it is possible to rebuild the Club.

Yes I would be onboard with this also some kind of fund to help supporters trusts set up phoenix clubs (starting at the bottom of the pyramid) where their club has been shafted by crooked owners

That is just a mess and impractical*

The downside is we don't have the money from the Christmas/New Year games but there will still be a question as to how many fans will be allowed into games anyway, so the loss may not be so bad. The upside is that not having those two things, squad wise, may be a real bonus. Including a Cup weekend there are SEVEN matches in December and that will take a toll on players. We will have over a week's rest before we play Stockport on the 28th; they will have played Alty on the 26th! We then have a break until 9th January when we play Woking at home.

I think the plus point outweighs the loss of the fixtures looking at it; of course, if we are bobbing around in lower mid table it won't matter at all.

**We have seen how the NL act; they will probably do everything I have said they shouldn't!
Not being funny but anytime the players have a break they play like dog shite the next few matches

I believe this would just lead to the continuation of this kind of behaviour. "Take the risk, they'll bail you out if it goes wrong"

I think the authorities need to have stricter rules in place and set higher expectations of owners, and do far more investigation into whether an owner can afford to run a club. In a similar manner to banks offering mortgages.

This is the result of YEARS of mismanagement at Macclesfield. How many times were their players paid late? Even when they were top of the league.

If suitable owners can't be found, Supporters Trusts should step up and budget within their means. If that means they get relegated a few times then so be it; but at least people will know where they stand.

Although it's not my logic, that belongs to the Jeremy Clarkson types who flew business class once and now think they're some kind of mogul.

You misunderstand me. I would wind the club up and then pay the players what they are owed.
