Independent are saying they are liquidated.

current owner wanted it pushed back for another 8 weeks while potential sale went through - this was the 14th attempt at it and he rightly said no

interesting post off another forum:

Any other clubs hear the name Benwell being banded about in connection be afraid, very afraid.
Jack Ryan is another shark swimming in polluted waters where football clubs are concerned.
hopefully neither are involved in our potential buy out, and if they are we have to fight hard to say no

Friends at Macclesfield were concerned at the time when they were taken over by a man who had 'big money'. It soon ran out.

Such a shame despite the promises its all ended in tears.

Lets hope they can do a Chester and rise up the leagues again.

In the scale of football the figure is indeed 'peanuts' as you put it. I suppose its dependent on what is to follow.
The Macclesfield take over was by a very rich family but its ended in tears. Just hope that the fans and friends of the club start it up again. I think the Moss Rose ground is still in the ownership of East Chesh Council. That in itself could be a saviour and springboard.

Good luck to what is a really friendly club.

Just goes to prove we need investment and the £2 mill being pumped into the club, it's got to happen and I plead with all wrexham fans to vote for this deal being offered it's a lifeline we cannot refuse under any circumstances especially as it seems they are genuine investors.

Also goes to prove that you have to be very careful who you sell your soul to.
Macc have been in trouble financially for years , lets face it their fanbase is small , therefore income is low. Sol Campbell probably fleeced them ,if he ever got paid in full.
We are relatively sound financially , but that could change at any time this season.
I'm coming round to the idea of outside investors but they have to be the right people.

Without the chancers - there would be a lot fewer football clubs

Sol Campbell took Little money from what I read he actually paid for players.
