Funding is more readily available to us at present as opposed to a private owner (who might be able to fund the projects himself)
Would a new owner want to finance the work on the Groves (In total estimated at £800k)
A new stand at the 'course would attract FAW funding as part contribution to the Gateway project and might not be affected by change of ownership but then again?
Why should he stay out of this discussion any more than You or I should.
Unless of course you don't believe anyone should have contradictory thoughts to yourself and some legitimate concerns, some of which have already been raised on RP.
Or prehaps he could wait until discussions have been had, which will hopefully see those questions asked? If not vote no, if a vote ever comes about.

Hopefully the Groves is mothballed for a far more suitable site!

Funding might be available at present but we seemingly have not utilised any of substance in the last 9 years.
As stated by Spencer in the SGM the club does not have any monies at present for financing the Groves project anyway.
Anyone is entitled an opinion but it is clear for some individuals that Fan ownership is a one-stop shop- there is no alternative. To be fair to Pete there are a couple on that forum who are even more doom-mongers. These people are clearly prepared to see the club go to the wall rather than accept outside investment.

Bit disappointing that some people are setting the deal up for a fall before we've even been able to scrutinise the detail.

Yet not surprising.

These people are always going to be around.

From the article on the BBC Sport website, which implies next week.

“ The Trust will meet on Tuesday, 22 September with the identity of the interested individuals able to be disclosed once members have authorised the board to proceed with discussions.”

They might stretch to a portaloo and a few mobile changing rooms at the nine acre....

Maybe if it all falls through our own skilled individuals could do this....

Pete Jones showing again what the Wst are about : Let's turn these down because we want to develop the groves (without funding) and build a stand for the conference North.

Get proper people in with money, sort the football team out and everything else will follow. We are a FOOTBALL club.

i can understand the apprehension and worry and have sympathy for those who worry excessively but put things into perspective, while the trust have guided the club through very stormy times it must be clear to all that a new direction is required for survival, it seems to me that the trust and its closest supporters are in survival mode, enough is being done to survive but with a slow gradual, painful decline, by the trusts own projections the club will lose money this season maybe worse by the end, support for the trust has declined and attendances were reducing, the only thing that has increased is apathy within the general fan base, this can be seen everywhere, in the street, in work, in the pub its everywhere, now we are at a point where there must be change to survive, generally the fans are not going to support the trust, indeed if this is an appropriate offer of investment with the wide publicity it has now recieved, is knocked back by those eligable to vote then the apathy will turn to disgust and the trust will die but so will the club, change is no longer a choice it is now essential
