In regards to the game, we looked really good at times. Thomas wins so much in the air although most of the stuff we played was on the floor. Jeffrey looks really good, he can use both feet so their full back didn't have a clue which way he was going to go.

4-0 today tells us nothing. 0-0 Telford midweek...they played at home to Notts County today...result 3-1 County...we play Telford at home on Tuesday night. We need to be playing clubs nearer our level and beating them rather than playing teams beneath us in the pyramid or youth/reserve teams IMO. First game proper vs Boreham Wood could be an eye opener if we’re not careful!

But they played a completely different starting Xl today, they did the 70/20 the other way around. So is that our best starting 11? Seemed to play better football, that’s not the typical keates hoofball!

Absolutely. Substitutions are at specific times, its all about minutes and working on different things. The opposition is largely irrelevant. Teams one step down are perfect imo, which is why every single team in our division are largely playing teams one step below them. We only played Salford XI because we had to cancel the Hednesford game. The only pointless fixtures are against teams miles away from our standard (in either direction)

Lol! Sorry guys. Genuinely am actually quite optimistic atm but the friendly fixtures this year have hardly been inspiring and whilst I can understand playing some games against teams beneath us surely the odd game against a team that would push us wouldn’t have gone amiss. Just concerned that winning 4-0 every week pre-season just leads to a false complacency when it comes to competitive matches when the season starts. Will be over the moon to be proven wrong with 3/4-0 victories continuing throughout the season...COYR!!
