The WST post potential club sale:

Should the takeover overcome all the hurdles that go with buying a football club, what will happen to the trust?

Obviously it will still exist. I would be very surprised if it has any say in what goes on at the club and that it would be very naive to think otherwise. The new owners will make all the decisions, however popular/unpopular they may be.

Will it become more involved with the community side of things? Making football accessible to all and promoting the club within the county. I’ve never been keen on the trust ownership model, but I do think it could serve a purpose to both the football club and Wrexham as an area, in the future.

The trust will negotiate a minority shareholding within the club. The WST should probably become a membership scheme similar to the Welsh FA offering priority tickets, discounts on merchandise etc. This would work well so long as the minority support (or challenge if required) the new club owners

Has that been stated anywhere?

Thought it was 100% takeover on the cards, and no directives from membership on red lines on negotiations.

I can’t see that happening I’m afraid.

What will the role of the Trust be ?
Obviously merchandise , sponsorships and hospitality will be undertaken by the club. If it is someone from the entertainment industry they will probably have some good contacts for concerts etc.
Maybe the Trust could continue to run away travel , would we need a Xmas raffle?
Any ideas of where you think things might go , just as a bit of fun.

Re: The WST post potential club sale:

I'm sure they will certainly try and negotiate a minority stake. In fact according to the resolution at the last AGM, I think they have to use that as their starting point along with retaining the lease etc?
If the buyers flat out say no though, it could be a very short conversation!

Whatever happens there's definitely a place for the trust in the future even if it reverts back to being a fundraising organisation. Raise funds for things like the youth teams.

They should revert to their original constitution which was created before any ownership issues.

It's a 100% take over so I see nothing for the trust only the supporters club.
