He’s allowed Darlington to shape his managerial style for him, based on some nonsense stats.

No wonder Ricketts wanted nothing to do with Darlington.

Agree that Davis is not the issue but he did play his part in us conceding and will hopefully learn, the midfield not tracking the scorer ( Harris I think) etc contributed. Good finish from their lad.

But how many times did we have one forward upfront isolated playing against a team that has been shipping goals. This is the style of Play Keates favours he cant or wont change.

Trouble is ...I cant see us improving as we are. If we play with 1 striker he needs to be stronger than Thomas. Not good enough for mid table as we are.

No recognised goalscorers is what is costing us most matches.

We need 1 or 2 prolific goalscorers.

When I saw the players Keates was signing I thought this looks like a decent squad. But ultimately I think the tactics he employs hinders how good some of his new signings are.

I have to say Theo Vassell did ok tonight, he really looked up for it aswell. Has anyone seen Reckord take a man on yet or does he always just turn and pass. Would love to see him actually take a player on for a change.

Before the match the BT presenter said we are hoping Thomas is the 20 goal a season striker we’ve been after.

On that showing today he’ll be lucky to get 2.0.

Mind he’ll take a few days to clim out of their centre half’s pocket!

Never known a Wrexham team to have so little intensity. Just sit back and hoof when we have the ball, and no pressing to win it in dangerous positions when we don’t have the ball. Maddening. Like others have said, we’ve got the players, but it’s the coaching.
