Re: Giggs and Dean - joint inventors of a new approach to football
It was awful, but even the best managers get it wrong at times and on paper there wasn't a lot between the teams. He made up for it last night in my view, by changing the set up and we got a well deserved win out of it despite us only fielding 3 players who had scored for us in the past (Neco, Wilson and James with 6 goals between them).

You must be or you would be like most of us as Welsh football fans, scarred by Anfield 1977, Ninian Park 1985, Cardiff Arrms Park 1993 and the Millienium Stadium 2003. All heartbreaking occasions where we entertained for sure but just didn't have that killer instinct and sheer grit to get over the line. Give me a dour 1-0 win any day over a heroic, attacking defeat. We are a tiny nation punching way above its weight with a plethora of youngsters who are coming through who look so comfortable in the environment. I think Giggs has done an incredible job results wise when you consider the absentees and has qualified for a major tournament at his first attempt and currently sits top of the Nations League group. "Lucky late goals" (What exactly was lucky about them ?) ha, What I would have done for a late "Lucky" Welsh goal in any of the above games. Cheer up, it's good being a Welsh football fan whether you like the manager or not |

Re: Giggs and Dean - joint inventors of a new approach to football
To be fair Wales are currently missing their four best players for getting us playing and attacking - Bale, Allen, Brooks and Ramsey. The replacemts are championship level quality. I don’t mind playing it tighter in those circumstances and grinding out results whilst we wait for them to come back. We played better attacking football under Giggs when we had them all fit and playing.
And Wales still played possession football. Unlike Keates’ hoof it to isolated strikers approach. Aimlessly keeping the ball for a bit would be a step up right now! |

And how many of those playing are actually starting for their club team? Probably a fair few are not getting first team football (l haven't checked).
To be up there challenging is a nice change. |
