We just have to hope that the takeover goes through ok, followed by the appointment of a full time chief executive with football club experience, hopefully someone like Peter Moore. They can then start by putting in place a professional organisation, including a new playing management team, who can get us playing attacking and successful football.

Just watched the BBC documentary on the demise of Bury FC and the rise of the fans owned Phoenix club. Good luck to them, but we know from experience that model will only take them so far.
Very true and when the idealistic obsession becomes more important than the football club you get a club like ours, a complete disaster from top to bottom.

Let this nightmare come to an end, enough is enough for god's sake.
History will tell us what fan ownership did to us and how it nearly killed us, and it will kill us if this deal doesn't go through.

What's the difference between a dead club with debt and a dead club without debt? Nothing.

Spot on, the WST did a good job in rescuing the club in its hour of need, then getting the club on an even keel by clearing the debts. That should have been the time to actively seek outside investment, however as you said idealistic obsession took over and the slippery slope to where we are today took hold in some of those running the club.

i will always maintain that paying off the debts in one go was a mistake, it left the club potless to the point where they then had to secretly borrow money to tick over, immediately prior to this the club was surviving with the team largely financed by moss, after which we have never had a decent football managing set up or team for that matter and then the club has the gall to say it has never been run better.
The real downfall of fan ownership has b een the devotion to political principles and not just from the powers that be but from those individuals who blindly supported fan ownership based upon their own political beliefs, it has ruined this football club and must never be allowed again

Whilst I hate losing I'm pleased Keates is performing this way.

It's as plain as dqy to our potential owners that he's about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Lets be honest, they aren't putting on an offer based on performance or results. Don't worry.

When we're voting for this deal, if you're voting against it what are you voting for exactly? If there are slight issues with this takeover then so be it, what is the alternative? We have to take this deal otherwise you're effectively voting for the death of the club.

The issue is how long under the current set up can we keep going with Keates and his anti football before he has to be sacked? Can we even afford to sack him and get rid of Davies and Darlington under the current set up? Can the board be trusted to bring in a proper manager?

Any new owner just needs to have watched the last two games to know what we have managerial wise is nowhere near good enough, hell i think even Spencer and his ilk know Keates has been a catastrophic mistake not that they will admit it.

So what do we do. Sack now and risk another poor appointment or risk Keates driving us into the relegation zone and then someone proper having to come in and save us?

Trying not to even think what will happen if the deal dosen't go through.
You have highlighted the two main issues with getting shot of Keates now. Can we afford it as it stands, and can we trust the board to appoint someone else .

At least with the second point I know the answer is definitely not !!!!!!

The Trust wont sack Keates they want to keep their money hidden away .
As usual they are putting themselves before the best interests of the football club

These abysmal results must at least make anyone still undecided about a takeover think that it’s the only solution. Every cloud has a silver lining.
