It's a pro club in name only.

Appointing Brian Carey instead off Darren Ferguson as manager in 2007

I blame the fans for not getting behind the team at home games this season. Oh crap, that excuse has been ruined, hasn't it?

Come on Fez, it's our fault in some way or another.

I believe fan ownership could have worked. However, when it became clear (pretty early on) that outside investment and football / business expertise was desperately needed, those on the top table failed to seek it - either through ideological persuasion or a desire to preserve their own positions. It’s a great shame as a hybrid model of ownership could have worked well.

Quite simply a drop in standards from the top of the club and off the field, which then eventually filters through to the pitch.

Fans owned could have worked?

Maybe, if the crazy gang had not grabbed power. To be fair they have done one thing really well. They have really stitched things up in their own ideological and egotistical interests. The sad thing is I have no doubt they started out with good intent but it looks a classic case of becoming addicted to a level of power and publicity that they could never achieve in any other sphere. Alternatively, they have been in denial for several years and R&R may yet provide some level of redemption for them.

What do we mean by "work”? Maybe a return to league but there was never enough funding to unleash the full potential of the club.

I don't know if R&R will go through and if it does if will it be successful but we are as sure as hell going nowhere under the likes of SH and LJ and Chairman Pete previously. At least Pete has had the decency to resign as it looks like he did not want the R&R offer pursued.

What is really irksome is that if we had pro-actively gone out and sought suitable owners / partners from the outset our destiny would have been in our own hands rather a random chance of fate.

Who knows R&R may turn out to be as good or better than anything else available, Time will tell.

What we do know is the WST have outstayed their welcome and due to time and funds being currently in short supply R&R is a better bet provided they take a real interest and are forthcoming with decent funding.

If they come up with the funding, I think it will be a really sound indication that they come with serious intent of success.

We would then run a similar risk to most other EFL clubs of being sold on or worse still being left in debt. If we want success, we need run that risk.
The alternative is not a runner in my view. We either shut up and accept mediocrity or go for it with R&R.
I only know that if this deal doesn't happen it's lights out for Wrexham as the fans will leave in droves, and been down to a few hard core people.
