Our defensive play from set-pieces is atrocious and has been for a while actually. Half the goals we concede seem to stem from corners/free-kicks either directly or from the inability to clear the lines.

Are we man marking or are they instructed to go zonal? Time and time again nobody seems to know who is supposed to be picking who up. Cb's nowhere near players, it's absolutely school yard crap.

Go man for man, stick your biggest players on theirs, then there's accountability for not marking your man.

If we are already going man for man then that is a horrifying thought given the amount of space afforded to the opposition.

Lainton is ineffective with crosses and corners stays on his line, (I have been saying this for a while) Interesting reading the Wealdstone forum what they have to say about the comments on the game on our forum.

He does stay on his line. Teams do now put a big brute (There's plenty of them in this League), right against the keeper. But a keeper who can handle that, and command the six yard area, would be the equivalent of a fifteen goal striker.

I’ve read their forum and they are correct in so many ways. They were the better team and deserved it. Most particular was one poster said that ‘big’ teams like Wrexham expect smaller teams to roll over when they play them. I don’t think that is the case with most of our fans as we have been in NL for 12 years and no what to expect. The fact that we are so poor and managed and run by a bunch of clowns is the main issue for me.

I do actually think Reckord and Hall-Johnson would suit a 5-3-2 formation like he had in the good old days of Smith's tenure (remember Carlos and Paul Edwards).

Maybe this was always the plan but Pearson having to have the op scuppered it.
Could Cleworth still play as an extra CB, or Horsefield?

Its worth a try surely...
