Default Arguments against the deal

Reading RP and social media the main objections to the deal appear to be, put simply:

1. The investors are paying nothing for the club which has a value.
2. We are losing control of the club and will no longer own it.
3. What will happen if R & R get tired of their 'plaything' and walk away in 5 or 10 years?
4. We are not blinded by stars and don't trust the 'American' actors.
5. We have fallen for beneficial owners' spiel before and been burnt.
6. What will happen to the WST?

All the above can be easily dismissed but there are probably others and I am sure they will be put forward, but having read the details of the deal provided I can see no valid reason to vote NO.

1. They are effectively paying £2m to get the club into their control.
2. Good
3. Can say the same about any owner. Crystal ball required for that one.
4. Their reputation and standing is the biggest thing we have “over” them.
5. We will have to see their vision.
6. Focus on community projects and stay out of the way would be my advice.

1. The club only has a value due to the money they will put in. Our won valuers says so - and without that cash input it is worth at best nothing and possibly has a negative value.
2. Control of the club is effectively in the hands of the WAFC Board anyway, nothing will change.
3. What happens if WST retain control - £600K of losses in two years and only £232K in the bank (WST's own figures).
4. There is literally no one on this Earth that some people would trust.
5. Everybody gets burnt at some point in life, you can't let that stop you living.
6. The WST will survive, it'll find it has much influence over the club as any other supporters group - but it will still own the lease on the ground.
